Although we'll still be trying "the old fashioned way", we're extending our break from fertility treatments until the summer. One, life is nuts between both of us working full time, my job now including some out-of-state travel & both of us having 2 night classes each. Two, we're currently trying to get my mother-in-law here from India for better cancer treatments; not an easy feat. Three, I want to lose some more weight so IF we need to go down the IVF road I'll actually be able to since there are BMI restrictions. And four (finally) we've exhausted our flexible spending account for the year; it re-ups in July.
Scary thought: I put in the max amount of $2500 in the flex account. Considering we're one of the lucky few to have good infertility coverage (80%), that means if we were out-of-pocket we'd have spent over $20,000 on NOT getting pregnant this year. Christ, that's more than I spent buying my brand new car! Something to remember the next time I have a friend/relative/co-worker complain about the cost of daycare. Hey, at least you have someone calling you "mom" after you spent all that money; all I have is a trash can full of negative pregnancy tests & used maxi pads!
/end rant...for now.
